Our story begins preceding World War II, when the Olympic Transport Company established an air base at the foothills of the Rattlesnake Mountains near Sunnyside, WA. Seeing the agricultural promise of the location, H. Lloyd Miller purchased the air base at auction and for four generations the Miller family has farmed the surrounding area. Airfield has been a pioneer in the wine grape industry, planting its first premium vines in 1968 with most of that being sold to Chateau St. Michelle until recently. With our newly constructed winery located in Prosser, our passion for excellence now extends into wine making. We take great pride in the quality of fruit sourced from our 750 acre vineyard, and we hope you enjoy every drop.
